Is Twitter's trends system officially broken? Just ask Derek Bieber.
Earlier this year it was annoyingly clear that Twitter users loved Justin Bieber. They loved him so much that he was always, always on the site's trend list. In an effort to make Twitter's trends more informative, the site just stopped listing him in trends, but his fans have found ways to keep him on the list.
Since Twitter stopped listing Justin Bieber as a trending topic, his fans have decided to make other terms trend. On Thursday for instance, "Derek Bieber" has been at the top of the trend list. So if you get to Twitter and wonder, "Who is Derek Bieber and why is he trending?," it's because Justin's fans want you to know they're still there, Tweeting about the Biebs.
